Labor Day

Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.
— PHILIPPIANS 2:16 (NIV)

According to the United States Department of Labor, Labor Day is the first Monday in September, and is a creation of the labor movement which is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

If you are able to work you are blessed and God wants you to perform work without grumbling or murmuring. I’m sure there are people you work with who complain about this and complain about that, but God wants you to shine among them like stars. Let Christ’s light from you rub off on them instead of allowing your light to be rubbed out. When you experience hardship on your job remember God’s word. Rely on His strength to get through. Know that you are more than a conqueror. Every perfect gift comes from God and whether you are employed, looking, or retired, you are blessed.

Happy Labor Day
