We live in a world where evil and insults are not in short supply. Not only are revenge and explicit slurs dished out during your favorite reality show, but they’re readily on hand during debates between the two candidates vying to be our next POTUS. The more we are exposed to people, music, television, and other medias that support repaying evil with evil or insult with insult, the more likely it is to mimic similar actions.
God wants you to handle confrontational situations differently from what the world may suggest. He wants you to receive the blessing you were called to inherit by repaying evil with blessing. Christ has a strategy for you that is guaranteed to work. Pray for those that despitefully use you. Don’t waste your time fighting against weapons formed against you that can’t prosper. The evil person who set out to hurt you, God will make work for your good. It won’t be easy to bless those that curse you or to extend love to those who don’t love you back, but you don’t have to be loved to give the love of Christ to everyone.
