Umm… we have a problem.
Jesus is knocking at your door every day. Just because you’re saved doesn’t mean you’ve granted Jesus an open invitation to show up in your life whenever He’s ready. Nooooo! Jesus wants to be invited. How many people you know, will show up at your home, uninvited, and expect to eat? (Well, besides your kids, that is.) None, I hope. But when you invite someone to your home for dinner, you prepare a meal for them. You make preparations, clear your schedule, and await their arrival. Likewise, Jesus wants you to invite Him to commune with you and be prepared to hear Him. Don’t wait to invite Him only when you’re in trouble or in need, but invite Him every day! It’ll be the best dinner guest you’ve ever had and the good thing is… He’s already paid the bill!
