The Main Goal

But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice.
— PHILIPPIANS 1:18 (NIV)

It’s important that we find our Christian leaders “practicing what they preach” concerning God’s word, but not more important than you following God’s word yourself. Too many times I’ve heard the testimony of people explaining they don’t go to church because the pastor isn’t right or its members are hypocrites. I normally respond by asking, “Even if your opinion is valid, does the vessel God chose to use change the word Christ has for you?”

It may be found true some pastors preach forgiveness and hold unforgiveness in their heart or some church leaders teach love, but hates their neighbor, but the main goal is Christ is preached. It can be distracting to receive God’s word from someone you know or think to be doing wrong in their personal life, but don’t let that hinder your personal relationship with Jesus. Request to meet with that person in private or seek out another God-like solution, but by all means, never give up on Christ. Jesus can fix the broken vessel He uses to carry His word and He may need your help in doing it!

Heavenly Father, I will rejoice knowing the main goal is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. Strengthen me to focus on You! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
