Just Like Jesus

The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
— MATTHEW 25:40 (NIV)

Jesus gives us the perfect example of what unconditional love is. The bible records several of these examples including the ultimate showing of His love when He sacrificed His life to save yours and mine. Today, Christ wants us to show the same love by treating others the way we would treat Him. As much as you would like to take Jesus out to dinner to show your appreciation for all He’s done, you can’t.

The best way to show appreciation to Jesus is to be just like Jesus. When someone was in need, Jesus met that need. When someone was hurt, Jesus showed compassion. When someone was hungry, Christ fed them. Jesus wants you to do the same. He says, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for me.” So when you show compassion toward a stranger, you show compassion to Christ. When you’re hospitable to others, you’re welcoming Christ. So if you really want to tell Jesus thank you, it’s all in how you treat others.

Heavenly Father, thank You for showing me what unconditional love is and how to treat others. I will always consider You when I interact with Your people and treat them just as You would. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
