I'll Pray for You

I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers.
— Philemon 1:4 (NIV)

As part of one body in Christ and being fitly joined together where every joint supplies the other, it’s important that we remember one another in our prayers. It’s very hard to harbor unforgiveness or hold a grudge against someone you thank God for in your prayers. When you’re able to lift others in prayers, it changes your outlook on life and situations as you encounter them. It can bring a peace over you and introduce a type of love you’ve never experienced before.

It is in God’s plan that we work together to grow His kingdom. I challenge you to lift up more than just your family members in your prayer today, but to call out individuals by name who you are connected to in Christ. And not just the ones you are on “good terms with,” but thank God for that ministry member you always seem to disagree with, or the next door neighbor that frowns at you for no apparent reason.  Singing “I’ll pray for you, you pray for me” is more than just a cute, feel-good song. It’s actually what a believer does when they want to “watch God change things.”
