Bread of Heaven

Give us today our daily bread.
— Matthew 6:11 (NIV)

God is aware of your every need. He never intended for you to live in lack. When you pray “Give us today our daily bread,” it’s a request to fulfill you physically, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. According to scripture, bread represents the necessary things in life (Proverbs 14:23 MSG), God’s word (Deuteronomy 8:3 NLT), family and fellowship (1 Corinthians 10:16 AMP), and salvation (1 Corinthians 11:23-24 NIV).

The Lord’s Prayer provides a model for prayer. It opens with saying who God is followed by acknowledging His kingdom agenda, and then a request for our daily portion (bread). This request is asking God to equip you with the ability to accomplish His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. Today when you pray, ask Jesus to establish His ministry in you to accomplish God’s mission. The answer to your prayer is in you answering someone else’s.

Feed me until I want no more

Heavenly Father, thank You for my daily bread. I know You will fill me physically, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
— This is my prayer
