Don't Kill Isaac!

…Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.
— Genesis 22:9 - 13 (NIV)

Abraham shows his obedience to God throughout the bible, but one particular instance comes to mind—when God told Him to sacrifice his son, Isaac. Abraham had purposely set out to do what God commanded, but in the last moment God sent Abraham an update through an angel. Abraham’s mission was the same, but the means of carrying out the mission had changed.

Abraham’s ability to hear the voice of God saved Isaac’s life. When God gives us a mission we have to listen for godly updates. The way God told us to start our assignment may not be the same way He wants us to finish it. God is always speaking to us and orchestrating. Don’t get too busy doing God’s work and kill your Isaac.

Never too busy

Lord, remove those things that cause me not to hear Your voice. Thank You for talking to me in everything I do. I know You will provide for me if I only yield to Your loving words. They are life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
— This is my prayer
