Living Water

Jesus answered, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst…’
— John 4:13-14a (NIV)

On Sunday, my pastor announced that as a church, we need to be seen coming to the aid of those suffering from the water crisis in Flint, Michigan. Therefore, we were asked to bring bottled water to the church, which will then be delivered to the people of Flint. I can only imagine the disgust and anger the residents of the city must be experiencing, along with the lost hope and faith in their local government and state officials. If I could speak to them, I’d encourage them to not lose hope in the One who carries the government on His shoulder.

Though the physical water may not always be usable, allow the living water of Christ to quench your spirit during trying and frustrating times. Use the abundance of His love while working together to find solutions to problems. Forgive those for their wrong doings and pray they will allow God to work through them. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. God’s resources will never run out.
