It's ALL About ME!

In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part.
— Matthew 6:14-15 (MSG)

Allow me to be transparent…I can hold a grudge! I’ve been known to hold a grudge for so long that I actually forget why I am mad to begin with. There have also been times I have been mad with people who had no idea I was even mad at them! It’s really non-productive and silly when you think about it, and today, I know that it costs me more to be mad versus forgiving them.

Jesus wants us to forgive for our sake, not for the sake of others. Your prayer life is hindered when you choose not to forgive, and you affect your connection with God. Not forgiving doesn’t help you get back at those that may have done you wrong. Remember, you are protected from the harm others mean to cause you. The scripture says “no weapon formed against you shall prosper” and “if God be for you, who can be against you?” Follow Christ’s example and forgive others so that you too may receive forgiveness.

It starts with you

Merciful God, I thank You for Your grace and forgiveness. Thank You for the example in Christ that shows me how to forgive so that I may be forgiven. I will love those that persecute me and pray for those that spitefully use me. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
— This is my prayer
