Where Credit is Due

But this precious treasure—this light and power that now shine within us—is held in a perishable container, that is, in our weak bodies. Everyone can see that the glorious power within must be from God and is not our own.
— 2 Corinthians 4:7 (TLB)

Like many believers, I have committed the Lord’s Prayer to memory. Sometimes I say it without really thinking about what the words mean. But, when I reflect on the part that says, “…Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven,” I believe great things are happening in heaven, and the only way for God’s will to be done on earth to make our world more like heaven is through us.

God created you to do awesome things on earth to accomplish His will. Through Christ, He placed His light and power in you to do the unimaginable, to create, and to inspire. He wants everyone to witness His power, and He chose you to do it. While you are accomplishing the impossible today, remember the glorious power that enables you to do so is from God and not yourself. Let your light shine for everyone to see just how great God is.

He deserves all the glory

Lord, I thank You for placing Your precious treasure of light and power inside of me. I will let Your light shine through me for all to see. I won’t forget to give you all the glory and praise for Your glorious power that works in me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
