"The Lord's Prayer" Series
“Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
The Evangelism Team of my church is sponsoring a toy drive for Christmas. As a member, one of my responsibilities was to create gift registries at a couple of stores to assist people in selecting toys to donate. I thought it would be a nice experience for my kids to assist me. As they scanned toys to create the registry, they begin voicing which toys they wanted. I reminded them that we weren’t there for them, but to make sure others had something to open on Christmas. Little did they know as they were making their list for others, I was making my list for them.
While you pray for others, Christ is praying for you. Don’t be more concerned with checking off items on your personal prayer list before checking off God’s. When you pray to God, remember to lift His agenda. Seek God’s way of making earth look more like heaven. When you pray for His will to be done on earth your needs are included.
Heaven on earth…
“Lord, I pray that Your kingdom comes through me for all to witness You. It is my desire that Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Use me to accomplish Your will. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
