Give It Up

and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
— Matthew 4:22 (NIV)

It’s hard to let go of something that’s familiar. It’s even harder to say goodbye to someone you’ve known a long time. You know what to expect. You’ve experienced the results before. Even if the situation is not the best for you, you feel a sense of safety and security in knowing what you have. One of the most difficult challenges in life is making a change that introduces a new and unknown path.

When you choose to give up people or things in your life to follow the plan of Christ, have faith that He will provide for you. It will be uncomfortable to lose friends or to stop doing things you’ve become use to, but don’t lose heart. Jesus said that no one has left their family, house, or possessions for His sake that He has not replaced and increased in this lifetime. You may be in a relationship that God didn’t place in your life, or in a job that’s keeping you from happily working in your purpose. Jesus wants you to trust Him enough to leave what’s familiar to you and follow Him.

Jesus take the wheel

Lord, thank You for giving me the strength to leave what’s familiar to me and accept the change You want to usher into my life. I have faith that You will provide all I need in life and more. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
— This is my prayer
