Ace the Test

Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.
— James 1:2-4 (MSG)

I used to hate having homework from school. I recall telling one of my teachers, “I don’t even understand why we have homework!” He told me, “Homework is given to make sure you understand and know how to use what you’ve just learned. It’s different from doing it here in class because you know you really have it when you can do it at home away from the teacher. It helps you be better prepared to pass next week’s test!”

Instead of hating homework, I needed to understand homework was a tool used to further develop me and prepare me for the test. When you pray and study God’s word, He will allow you to be challenged in life—not to break your faith, but to strengthen it. Your faith will increase as you witness God doing exactly what He said He’d do in His word. Consider it a gift when challenges arrive in your life. It means God believes you know enough to be tested and are ready to ace the test!

Everyone starts with an “A”

Heavenly Father, I will count it all joy when challenges arrive in my life knowing that You have already delivered me. My faith will increase as I continue to rely on and walk in Your word, making me efficient in every way. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
— This is my prayer
