(A spiritual walk through Ephesians Chapter 1 and 2)
When I lived at my parents’ house there were rules I had to abide by. When I went away for college, the rules changed. I determined when I ate, when I studied, and how late I stayed out. I remember going home during semester break, and I stayed out pretty late one evening. When I got back to my parents’ house that evening, they had called my brothers, my friends, AND the police looking for me! I was no longer operating under the rules of my parents’ house because I had a change of address. And let’s just say that was the last summer I went back home.

You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, until you had a change of address. Since Jesus has taken up residency in your heart, you no longer obey the rules of the devil. You obey God! And at your new address is freedom from sin, peace in the middle of storms, and the impossible is made possible. Sometimes, you visit your old address of sin, but it just doesn’t seem the same. The memories come flooding back, but you realize there’s no place like your new address with Jesus! Repent and remember your change of address. You don’t have to live in sin anymore because your new home is in Christ.
I am free from sin
Heavenly Father, I used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, but thank You for my change of address. I no longer obey the devil. I choose to obey You and Live Life to the fullest – blessed, free, and at peace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
