Yesterday evening my wife invited me for a walk. It was a nice enough day out, but I had quite a few projects I needed to get completed. As I turned down her offer, she replied, “You can take 20 minutes to do something relaxing and enjoyable for yourself.” I couldn’t argue with that. It was 20 minutes that I could easily spare doing something healthy and needed rather than beating myself over the head with work that would still be there 20 minutes later after a quick reset.

What’s stopping you today from enjoying life? Is it pressure on the job? Is it financial issues? Are chores piling up? Those things have to be addressed, but every now again you have to look higher to reset yourself. You don’t want to look back over your life and find all you did was work, work, work. Go for a walk and enjoy God’s weather. Call a friend and have a good conversation. Read today’s scripture and close your eyes for just 3 minutes thinking only about what you read. Today’s trouble will become tomorrow, but your life still goes on. Look higher.
