Test and Tempt

God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.
— JAMES 1:12 (NLT)

Did you know there is a difference between being tested and being tempted? Testing comes from God and is designed to help you or show you your dependence on God, as well as bring you closer to Him. Temptation, on the other hand, comes from ungodly sources and are designed to cause you to fall away from your relationship with God. In both, you can obtain godly success and receive what Christ has promised you.

God bless those who patiently endure testing and temptation. With each, God gives you a way to escape successfully and grow closer in Him. But the key to this success is to be patient. See, you are blessed even in the middle of trouble. Just because you’re a believer doesn’t mean you will be free from trouble, but you are free in trouble because Jesus is with you – guiding and protecting you. How ever you are being tested or tempted today, endure. Your promised crown is just ahead.

Endure

Heavenly Father, I am blessed in the middle of my test and in the middle of my temptation. I will patiently endure the obstacles before me and look to You as I claim my victory and crown. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
