Trash Day

Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.
— 1 PETER 5:7 (NLT)

The service that collects trash from my home comes every Monday morning. The management teams suggest that it’s out front, near the curb, before 6AM to make sure the pick up isn’t missed. I pay for this service every three months and every Monday, no matter if it’s raining or snowing, too cold or too windy, it’s picked up. Now, if I neglect to give them my garbage Monday morning – even though the service is paid for – they won’t collect my trash. I’ll be stuck with things I don’t need until the next Monday (if I remember to take it out trash day).

God paid the cost for you to give all the things you don’t need in your life to Christ, but if you don’t give it to Him on trash day, then you’ll be stuck with them until you decide to give them to Him. And you don’t have to wait until every Monday. You don’t have to wait until Sunday Service or even Wednesday Night Prayer Service. No, you can give all your worries and cares to God any time of the day because He cares about you. The more you pour out to Him, the more He can pour into you. Make the choice to not carry that trash around. Cast it away. Get rid of it. Give your problems to Jesus. He’ll make you brand new.

Heavenly Father, thank You for blessing me to give you all of my worries and cares of this world. I love that You care so much for me and cover me daily. Thank You, Lord, for taking my trash away. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
