99 Problems

Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
— PHILIPPIANS 1:6 (NIV)

“Can I catch a break!?” I know we’ve all said that before.  Just when life gives us a little sunshine, it starts to rain. You check one problem off the list only for two more to sprout up. You come off a wonderful vacation only to return to a car that won’t start. You buried the hatchet with your spouse concerning one problem only to start round two of another bout later in the same day. You thought you’d caught up on your medical expenses only to get a call from your HMO explaining the details of hidden fees you didn’t know were hiding. One thing after another can leave you asking, “My God, my God! Why has thou forsaken me?!”

Well, my friend, you may have 99 problems, but God forsaken you isn’t one of them. In the midst of your problems, Jesus will never abandon you. He hasn’t brought you this far in life to leave you. If you’re experiencing any difficulties in life, it’s only because God knows He’s prepared you for it and has a plan for you on the other side of your problem. Sometimes Jesus allows you to go through some things just so you will have to call on His name. (We forget to do that at times.) And when you call on Jesus in the middle of your storm, the Holy Spirit will release the confidence and faith within you to remind you that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Rely on His strength and wisdom in your problem instead of your own.

He’s not finished with you
