Later

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.
— 2 PETER 3:10 (NIV)

You know what we can never have enough of? No, not your favorite food. Not clothes or shoes. Not even money. We can never have enough time. It seems like no matter how well we plan, how much rest we get, whatever perfect team we put together, there is never enough time in the day to get it all done. And since it’s a fact that we will never get it all done, we should focus more on living a humble, kind and loving life towards others while we attempt to get it all done.

Yes! Get your degrees, start your business, live your life to the fullest, but remember not to put off being godly for later. “I’ll go to church later”, “I’ll give to the poor later”, “I’ll do it later once I get back on my feet.” What you share with others will long outlast any degree you can hang your wall or any personal milestone you’re planning to accomplish. And since there’s no record of when Jesus is coming back, don’t put kind deeds off until later. Someone needs a kind word from you. Someone needs to feel God’s compassion through you. Start now, because, well… you never know the day.

Start now

Heavenly Father, I want to be ready when You come back. I choose to live a life pleasing to You and not just pleasing to myself. I will not put off being kind, humble and loving for later. I will start now. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
— This is my prayer
