Today isn’t about fried or baked turkey. Today isn’t about hoping the Lions can at least win on Thanksgiving. Spending time with family and friends is great. Skipping hours of cooking in the kitchen and opting for Chinese food and a good movie instead – I ain’t mad at you! Today isn’t about scoping out Black Friday sales in advance and reviewing your strategy of which door buster to bust first. It’s not even about the Nina, the Pinta, or the Santa Maria. It’s about giving thanks to the Lord because He is good and because His love endures forever.

God’s goodness levels the playing field. If you think you don’t have anything to be thankful for today, you can always be thankful for God’s love and His goodness towards you. He blessed you to see another holiday. Not everyone can say that. His goodness sustained you and kept you. Through the bad times, to the good times, you can be thankful Jesus never left you. You can be thankful that He has eternally wrapped you in His love. So today, don’t allow turkey, football, or sales steal God’s praise. Remember to give thanks and lift the name of Jesus today. For He is good and His love endures forever.
