GODLY LIVING

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.
— 2 PETER 1:3 (NIV)

In my experience with sharing the Gospel with unsaved people, a common concern usually expressed is that there’s too many rules to live godly. They are intimidated by the idea of not being able to do this, say that, or go there. Then the conversation is usually summed up with, “When I’m ready to stop doing (blank) then I’ll come to Christ.”

It is through our encounters with God that we realize the changes that need to be made in our lives. When we rely on our own powers to correct our wrongs it can prove to be a trying process, but with God’s divine power we have everything we need for a godly life through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. So it’s not about “getting right,” but making the right decision in seeking God to start living godly.

Don’t wait. Just go!
