How To Be

Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.
— 1 PETER 3:8 (NIV)

Scripture reminds us how Christ wants us to be toward one another. Jesus wants us to be like-minded (or have the same godly agendas in life), to be sympathetic toward each other, to love one another, and be compassionate, and humble. If you aren’t doing all of these as you should be, don’t kick yourself. (Well, at least not too hard *|FNAME|* .)  Some of these things, if not all of them, take practice. With persistence, you’ll get it and with consistency, you’ll keep it.

Anything worth having is worth working for and to be how God wants you to be isn’t always easy. This is when you have to have enough of God’s love and His word in your heart for the Holy Spirit to tap into in order to achieve how Christ wants you to be. Pray to be like-minded in Christ. Seek opportunities to be sympathetic with others. Looks for ways to express God’s love to everyone. Spread His compassion and commit to being humble.  If it doesn’t come right away, learn to be patient with yourself. Allow Christ to move in your life and He’ll help you be how He wants you to be.

Heavenly Father, I need You to move in my life. I want to be like-minded, sympathetic, love others, be compassionate and humble just how You want me to be. Guide me, Lord. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
