Wise and Understanding

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.
— JAMES 3:13 (NIV)

There is a distinct difference between wisdom and knowledge. Knowledge is facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education or having a theoretical idea or understanding of a subject. Wisdom stretches deeper because it is inherited only after you’ve applied what you’ve learned. Some would say knowledge comes from learning while wisdom comes from living.

Our God is a God of second chances. Don’t waste your second chance by not understanding and learning from your mistakes. Learn from your mistakes and practice deeds of humility towards others. Jesus wants you to have a good life. A way you can experience a good life is through serving and helping others. Pass life’s lessons to others based on your wisdom. It’s always good to share what you’ve learned, but it’s a blessing to show what you know.

Heavenly Father, please guide my heart and strengthen me to control my tongue. I want to use words that will build people up and not destroy them. I choose to speak life into people and speak love into the world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
