Rainy Day

They should collect all the food of these good years that are coming and store up the grain under the authority of Pharaoh, to be kept in the cities for food. This food should be held in reserve for the country, to be used during the seven years of famine that will come upon Egypt, so that the country may not be ruined by the famine.
— Genesis 41:35-36 (NIV)

If you look back over your life, you can admit that God has blessed you with some good years. Even though you may have experienced some struggles or setbacks financially, God brought you to a brand new day.

When God blesses you, He wants you to be a good steward. Take into consideration that He isn’t just blessing you for today, but for tomorrow as well. God didn’t design His people to be in lack or live paycheck to paycheck. He wants you to be prepared for your rainy day. I challenge you to establish a routine with your next paycheck and create a budget that allows you to give first (tithes and offerings), pay yourself second (put something in your savings account that you won’t touch even if it’s only $4), and finally pay your bills. It’s time for believers to become the lenders and not the borrowers! Will you join me?

Heavenly Father, thank You for the good years You have blessed me with. I will be a good steward over what You have given me. I was not created to experience lack, but a life of abundance in You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
