Meet the Need

Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
— Romans 12:13 (NIV)

God created the body of Christ to work together and to meet the needs of its members. There are many ways the needs of others can be met. It’s not always monetarily, though money does answer all things (I didn’t make that up! See Ecclesiastes 10:19). Sometimes it’s through exercising the gift of hospitality. You can meet a need by being a listening ear. It could be something as simple as sitting next to a person who normally is left alone. Try greeting someone with a smile or letting the person with less items in their cart go ahead of you in the checkout lane. Jesus’ life was about meeting the needs of others. It didn’t matter who was watching or who frowned upon His act of love. He saw a need and filled it, and you can too.

Heavenly Father, I will practice hospitality with those in need. You have given me the ability to meet every need in the body of Christ. Thank You for your example. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
