Millennial Reason No. 12: "You're Failing to Adapt"

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
— ACTS 1:8 (NIV)

(This series of devotionals will be addressing an article titled 12 Reasons Millennials Are OVER Church. The author provides 12 reasons why Millennials don't attend church. I expound on them in this series. )

Evangelizing is a spiritual gift, but it’s every believers’ responsibility to share the gospel. You may have mastered your technique when first time visitors come to your church. You even have your “Have you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior…” speech cocked and ready. While this form of evangelizing is essential for church growth, there’s still a large population of your community unchurched and unsaved.

Are you ready to evangelize to people who don’t look like you? Act like you? Dress like you? When Christ gave you the power of the Holy Ghost, it wasn’t just to have the courage to witness to those who visit your church, but to spread His goodness to the ends of the earth. That means you’re going to have to adapt by learning and doing things outside of your comfort zone. But take a deep breath, and stay calm. You can do this. The work has already been done. You just have to tell somebody about it.

Heavenly Father, You have given me the power of the Holy Ghost to be Your witness. I will adapt to my surroundings and tell everyone of Your goodness. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
