Millennial Reason No. 11: Stop Talking About Us (Unless You're Actually Going to Do Something)

It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it.
— ECCLESIASTES 5:5 (NIV)

(This series of devotionals will be addressing an article titled 12 Reasons Millennials Are OVER Church. The author provides 12 reasons why Millennials don't attend church. I expound on them in this series. )

When we gave our lives to Christ, we accepted Him as our Lord and vowed to do things Jesus said in order to identify as Disciples of Christ – Christians. One of those things was to “Go and make disciples of all nations.” All nations means all races, all economic groups, all lifestyle, and yes, all ages.

When it comes to all ages, some of us would rather leave that “hard headed” age group for someone else to deal with, but fortunately, we don’t get to pick and choose who we disciple. Instead of talking about a group of people, we should learn more about that group of people. Paul said he became all things to win more souls for Christ. We cannot become what people need unless we listen less to stereotypes, stop talking bad about people, and learn more about them. Faith without works is dead. We have to be about more action and less talk.

Heavenly Father, I vow to make disciples of all nations. I will learn more about the people You created and reach more souls for You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
