“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
Ever do something for someone and not look for anything in return? Has anyone ever tried to return a favor and you said, “No. That not necessary.” When Jesus performed miracles on people, He never asked for anything in return. His blessing was in doing the work of His Father.
Christ wants you to value others more than you do yourself. It’s an easy task to accomplish when you believe God is your provider. When you believe He truly is your provider, you will be more susceptible to do for others instead of only looking out for yourself. You realize it’s not about you, but making sure others are blessed. You become more interested in the interests of others than your own. Today, make an extra effort to do something for someone else. Bless someone because you’re blessed.
