As a child, I remember being told about Jesus’ crucifixion. This was before we had the visual aid of Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ movie, but even as a child I understood Christ was beaten badly and hung on an old rugged cross. “Why is this called Good Friday? “ I used to think. I knew He spit on and betrayed by His friend. “How could that be good?” I knew He was a person who knew no sin, but was still punished and killed. “Good Friday? Really?” It wasn’t until later I realized it was a “good Friday” because Christ died for our sin, that we may be saved, have a relationship with God, the Father, and have eternal life.

The prophecy of Christ was fulfilled. He died according to the scriptures, was buried according to the scriptures and resurrected according to the scriptures. And if the bible is true for Christ, it’s also true for you. Every precious promise. Every encouraging word. Every affirmation confirmed. So not only is today a good day for you, but because of Christ, every day is a good day. Make sure you live it to the fullest as Christ did. Don’t invest in those who mock you and condemn you. You have resurrection power! They can try to hurt you. They can try to kill your dream. But you can rise above it all and make today a good day.
