Purpose and Grace

He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time…
— 2 TIMOTHY 1:9 (NIV)

There are times we use things for something outside of their purpose to fulfill a need. There’s been plenty of times I couldn’t find a flat head screwdriver, but a butter knife was nearby and did the trick. We had a floor model TV that only got maybe ten good stations and if the one you wanted to watch was fuzzy, the strategic bend of a coat hanger could clear that picture right up! No matter the other uses we created for these makeshift tools, the butter knife was still best used spreading butter and the hanger neatly organizing clothes in your closet.

There are things you’re doing in life that you’re good at, but why settle for being good when God called you to be great! When you became saved, Christ called you to a holy life and set you aside for a specific reason. You have purpose and grace that only God can give. In this purpose is success, peace, love, joy and freedom among many other things Jesus has sealed with His grace. In His purpose and with His grace is no failure or condemnation.  Continue to walk with Jesus and learn of your true purpose and allow His grace to promote you and keep you.
